  • Our Founder
    Patrick Maroney.

    Patrick Maroney founded Alcohol Beverage Training after a career spent enforcing and shaping the very laws these classes cover. From 2013 to 2019 he served as Director of the Colorado Liquor Enforcement Division, and earlier as its Chief of Investigations. In those roles he oversaw more than 15,000 liquor licenses and permits across the state.

    He helped implement SB 16-197 and SB 18-243, the biggest changes to Colorado liquor law since Prohibition, and he is a Certified Colorado Responsible Vendor Trainer. Over 33 years in law enforcement and more than 9,700 students later, he teaches licensees and their staff to understand the rules in plain terms. He is a former board member of the National Conference of State Liquor Administrators and now serves as President of Maroney Consulting Services.

    Pick a live session that fits your schedule, in person or by video conference. Spanish classes are available too.
  • Attend live
    Join the full live session and ask real questions. Standard self-paced online courses are not recognized in Colorado for Responsible Vendor training, which is why every ABT class is live.
  • Pass the exam
    Take the exam right after class. A passing score earns your certification on the spot.
  • Get certified
    Your certificate is issued immediately, valid for two years, and verifiable by employers and regulators on this site.
