These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the websites, training programs, examinations, and related services provided by Alcohol Beverage Training ("ABT," "we," "us," or "our"), a Colorado-based provider of alcohol seller and server certification training operating at alcoholbeveragetraining.com. By creating an account, booking a class, taking an exam, or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the services. Effective date: June 12, 2026.
1. Scope of Service
ABT provides alcohol seller and server certification training delivered through live, instructor-led classes conducted online via Zoom, in person, or in a hybrid format. Our services include class registration and scheduling, certification exams administered following class attendance, issuance of certificates of completion, a public certificate-verification lookup, recertification training, organization bulk seat purchases, Train the Trainer programs, and liquor consulting services.
Our services are intended for individuals who work, or intend to work, in the sale or service of alcoholic beverages. You must be of legal working age for alcohol service in your jurisdiction to enroll in our training or use our services.
2. Accounts and Registration Information
You must create an account to book classes, take exams, and receive certificates. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep that information up to date. Certificates are issued to the legal name on your account, so it is essential that your account reflects your legal name exactly as you intend it to appear on your certificate.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Accounts are personal and may not be shared. Each individual seeking certification must hold their own account.
- If your legal name changes after a certificate has been issued, a correction to the certificate requires ABT administrative review and approval.
- Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
3. Class Bookings, Attendance, and Class Changes
Class seats are reserved through our booking system on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability. A booking is confirmed once registration is complete and, where payment is required, once payment has been made or pay-later arrangements have been accepted.
- You must attend the full class session to be eligible to sit for the certification exam. Online attendees must join the Zoom session under the name on their account so attendance can be verified.
- You may change your class date through your account, subject to a change limit. Same-day changes are allowed within that limit.
- Once your change limit is reached, additional changes require ABT approval and may not be granted.
- ABT may reschedule or cancel a class session due to instructor availability, insufficient enrollment, or circumstances beyond our control. If we cancel a session, you may move to another session or request a refund under our Refund Policy.
4. Exams
Certification exams are administered immediately following class completion. A score of 70% or higher is required to pass.
- Each registration includes two exam attempts. If you do not pass on the first attempt, the retake is taken immediately after the failed attempt.
- If you do not pass within the two attempts included with your registration, you must register for and attend another class before testing again.
- Exams must be completed by the registered student alone, without unauthorized assistance, materials, or devices. Violations are handled under Section 7 (Acceptable Use) and may result in invalidation of results and revocation of any certificate issued.
5. Certificates and Verification
Students who attend a class and pass the certification exam are issued a certificate in the legal name on their account. Each certificate carries a unique certificate number, an issue date, and an expiry date, and is provided in PDF form through the student's account.
- Certificates are valid for two years from the date of issue. Recertification training is available before or after expiry.
- ABT operates a public certificate-verification lookup. Employers, regulators, and other parties may verify the status of a certificate by its certificate number. By earning a certificate, you acknowledge that its number, holder name, issue date, expiry date, and validity status may be confirmed through this lookup.
- Certificates are personal to the named holder and may not be transferred, altered, or used by any other person.
- ABT may revoke a certificate that was obtained through fraud, cheating, impersonation, or misrepresentation of identity or eligibility, or that has been altered or misused. A revoked certificate will show as invalid in the public verification lookup.
6. Purchases and Payment
ABT sells class seats and related services directly through its own cart and checkout. We are the seller of record for all purchases made on the site.
- Card payments are processed through our merchant payment gateway. ABT does not store full card numbers or card security codes; that information is handled by the payment gateway.
- Qualifying purchases may be paid later by check or ACH. Pay-later orders are confirmed subject to receipt of payment, and ABT may withhold exam results or certificates on unpaid orders.
- Promo codes may be applied at checkout where offered. Promo codes are subject to their stated conditions and may not be combined unless expressly permitted.
- Organizations may purchase seats in bulk. Bulk purchases mint access codes that the organization distributes to its staff, who redeem them to register for classes. The purchasing organization is responsible for distributing its access codes only to its own personnel.
- Refunds and partial refunds are available as described in our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. Refunds are processed by ABT's back office to the original payment method; card refunds are issued through the payment gateway, and check payments are refunded by check. A refunded or cancelled order releases the associated class seat and deactivates any unredeemed access codes from that order.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the services honestly and lawfully. Without limiting that obligation, you agree that you will not:
- cheat on any exam, including by using unauthorized materials or assistance, copying answers, or sharing exam content with others;
- register, attend class, or take an exam under a false identity, or have another person attend or test on your behalf;
- misrepresent your eligibility, employment, or organization affiliation;
- forge, alter, or misuse a certificate, certificate number, or the verification lookup;
- interfere with the operation or security of the service, including attempting to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data, or circumventing bot-protection measures;
- resell seats or access codes except as part of an authorized organization bulk purchase; or
- disrupt a class session or harass instructors, staff, or other students.
Violation of this section may result in removal from a class, invalidation of exam results, revocation of certificates, suspension or termination of your account, and forfeiture of fees to the extent permitted by law and our Refund Policy.
8. Intellectual Property
All training materials, course content, exam questions and item pools, presentations, handouts, videos, certificates, and the design and content of the website are the property of ABT or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the materials provided to you solely for your own training and certification. You may not copy, distribute, publish, record, or create derivative works from our training materials or exam content, and you may not use them to develop competing training programs. Exam content is confidential and may not be disclosed to any third party.
9. Disclaimers
An ABT certificate attests that the named holder completed the training course and passed the certification exam administered by ABT. It is not a license, a government permit, or a guarantee of employment. Alcohol service requirements vary by state, locality, employer, and regulator, and they change over time. It remains the certificate holder's responsibility to confirm that ABT training and certification satisfy the specific requirements of their employer, licensing authority, or jurisdiction.
Except as expressly stated in these Terms, the services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and ABT disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the website, online class sessions, or third-party services such as Zoom or the payment gateway will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ABT and its owners, instructors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost wages, lost business opportunities, or loss of employment or licensure, arising out of or relating to the services or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ABT's total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the services or these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid to ABT for the service giving rise to the claim during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Changes to These Terms; Governing Law
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on the website with a new effective date, and where appropriate we will notify account holders by email. Your continued use of the services after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, stop using the services.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the services are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The state and federal courts located in Colorado will have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and each party consents to venue and personal jurisdiction in those courts.
